LOLcats

Che cosa sono i LOLcats? Sono immagini buffe di gatti accompagnate da una didascalia (capshun in lingua LOLspeak, cioè un inglese dall'ortografia volutamente scorretta) che commenta ironicamente la foto. Nel Blog dei LOLcats, icanhascheezburger, c'è anche un manuale rapido per chi vuole imparare il LOLspeak. Due esempi facili:


What's LOLcats? It's a series of funny cat pictures with captions (capshuns in LOLspeak, a form of typed text language that is not in proper English) as ironic comments. In the LOLcats Blog, icanhascheezburger, one can learn "LOLspeak as a Second Language in Five Easy Steps". Two easy examples are given in the pictures above.

Siam siam siam del Siam-Siam, siam siamesi...

Lilli e il vagabondo (cliccare sull'immagine per vedere il video) è un classico di Walt Disney uscito nel 1955 e tratto dal racconto di Ward Greene. Lilli è una cocker spaniel che si sente abbandonata quando i suoi umani hanno un bambino. Quando arriva la zia Sarah con i suoi inquietanti siamesi, Lilli esce nel mondo e conosce Rover, un cane vagabondo, dal quale imparerà cosa significa essere liberi.
Questa è la scena in cui i gatti Si & Am prendono possesso della casa. Il commento più vicino alla mia opinione sui due siamesi l'ho trovato su You-tube: "Da bambina mi terrorizzavano,... ora mi sembrano Bjork".

I'll quote a You-tube comment, for it is the closest to my own feeling about the cunning couple: "These used to scare me as a kid....but now I think they sound like Bjork".

Vi segnalo un nuovo sito che parla di gatti: da adottare o adottati, smarriti o ritrovati, con curiosità e consigli utili e anche una sezione "In ricordo di" dove è possibile pubblicare la foto del proprio amico che non c'è più. Il sito nasce da una vera grande passione per i gatti ed è rivolto a chi condivide questa passione. In particolare vuole essere utile per chi ha intenzione di adottare un micio, ed è aggiornato con le immagini dei gatti in attesa di una famiglia ... e di quelli che sono stati già felicemente accasati!

Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:

Il nome dei gatti

È una faccenda difficile mettere il nome ai gatti;
niente che abbia a che vedere, infatti, con i soliti giochi di fine settimana.
Potete anche pensare, a prima vista, che io sia matto come un cappellaio,
eppure, a conti fatti, vi assicuro che un gatto deve avere in lista tre nomi differenti.
Prima di tutto quello che in famiglia potrà essere usato quotidianamente,
un nome come Pietro o come Augusto, o come Alonzo, Clemente,
come Vittorio o Gionata, oppure Giorgio o Giacomo Vaniglia:
tutti nomi sensati per ogni esigenza corrente.
Ma se pensate che abbiano un suono più ameno,
nomi più fantasiosi vi possono consigliare,
qualcuno pertinente ai gentiluomini, altri più adatti invece alle signore:
nomi come Platone o Admeto, Elettra o Filodemo,
tutti nomi sensati a scopo familiare.
Ma io vi dico che un gatto ha bisogno di un nome

SOS ABBANDONO

Are you coming to sunny Italy for your summer holidays? Unfortunately, for too many Italian dogs, cats and other animals, summer is the time of abandonment. If you happen to see an abandoned animal wandering along the road, call 3341051030, or 112 or 113.
E' tempo di ferie e purtroppo, per troppi cani, gatti ed altri animali, è il tempo dell'abbandono. Nei mesi di giugno, luglio e agosto si hanno in genere 60 mila abbandoni, ovvero 20 mila al mese, 700 al giorno, 30 ogni ora, 1 ogni due minuti. Ora però l'abbandono degli animali è un reato penale che prevede l’arresto fino a un anno e una multa fino a 10.000 euro. Se l’animale abbandonato provoca un incidente, il proprietario ne è responsabile e può essere imputato di omicidio colposo. Negli ultimi 10 anni gli incidenti gravi provocati da animali smarriti, abbandonati o randagi sono stati 45.000, con 4.000 feriti e 200 morti.
Se si è testimoni di un abbandono occorre prendere subito il numero di targa o qualche altro riferimento utile all’identificazione del colpevole e fare denuncia.Qualora vedeste vagare animali abbandonati lungo le strade, chiamate il numero 3341051030, oppure il 112 o 113.

Duetto Buffo

I gatti in musica: come primo brano vi propongo il Duetto Buffo di Gatti, scritto forse da Gioacchino Rossini, con i disegni dell'indimenticabile Lele Luzzati.

FELINEIDE

"Felineide" è una mostra-evento dell'artista Sergio Cavallerin che si sta tenendo a Perugia dal 4 al 18 luglio. Il mondo dei felini e l'arte si incontrano nelle tele e nelle sculture in ferro dell'istrionico artista.
La mostra coinvolgerà numerosi appuntamenti musicali e culturali nella Galleria Artemisia, in via Alessi 14.
"Felineide" is an exhibition of the artist Sergio Cavallerin taking place in Perugia until 18 July. The world of cats and the world of art come together in paintings and iron sculptures. The exhibition will include several musical and cultural events at the Artemisia Gallery, via Alessi 14, Perugia.
